Do small companies take security seriously ? Apparently not.
I heard from Jonathan this morning that one of the tenants in his building in the centre of Leeds, West One, StickyEyes had been broken into last night. Our Sales Manager saw this as a good opportunity to maybe assist, and when he called them, their director Stephen Lee said "Security is of no interest to me", why said Oliver ? "It just isn't" he said and promptly put the phone down. Oh well, maybe StickyEyes customers and partners also aren't interested in security as well.

I have a feeling that you have misquoted me here. Just because your cold call did not work there is no need to tell a blatant lie about what I said, is this the first time you have had a rejection? Security is of course important, however I get so many cold calls every day from idiots like you trying to sell me something that I can implement myself, without a middle man, that I tend to try and get rid as soon as possible probably by saying I'm not interested, not your misquote. Get your facts straight beforehand next time.
ReplyDeleteI listened to every word of that conversation Stephen you had with Oliver Rickeard and I did not misquote you in my original posting. Network Integration Technologies LLP delivers high end security solutions to some of the largest organisations in the UK http://www.networkintegration.co.uk/clients.html?u=4 who have very exacting standards including national and international law. We are confident this demonstrates we are somewhat more than a 'middleman' and we wish your company well in the DIY management of your own network and physical security.
ReplyDeleteI at no point said "Security is of no interest to me" end of. Get your facts straight next time, I had no interest in talking to your colleague yes, we had just been broken into and you really think I wanted to talk to someone about Network Security (which by the way we already had a company dealing with this). The real answer is I have no interest in your services and think if this is the way you respond to everyone that doesn't want to buy from you then you are not a very professional business man.
